⌘E – Chaos und Kontrolle
Für das Magazin des Studiengangs Mediendesign an der DHBW Ravensburg sollte für die kommende vierte Ausgabe mit dem Thema „Chaos und Kontrolle“ ein Layout-Entwurf gestaltet werden.
Das Konzept entwickelt das Spannungsfeld „Chaos und Kontrolle“ weiter zum Thema „Veränderung“. Jede der exemplarisch gestalteten fünf Episoden
basiert auf einer anderen Faltung, welche jeweils eine Veränderung des Layouts und des
generellen äußeren Erscheinungsbildes zur Folge hat.
Durch die Faltung der Seiten wird das Layout sowie der Text
verändert und in einen neuen Kontext gesetzt: Symbolisch für jede Episode steht eine Origami-Figur, die passend gewählt wurde. Diese kann am Ende jeder Episode mithilfe eines beiliegenden Faltblattes und einer Anleitung
nachgefaltet werden. Faltet man die fertige Figur wieder auf, ergibt sich durch das
entstandene Falzmuster das in der Episode verwendete Layout-Raster. So entsteht eine auf
den ersten Blick chaotische und zusammengewürfelte Gestaltung, die jedoch mithilfe der
Origami-Faltungen kontrolliert umgesetzt wurde.
Das komplette Magazin wurde mithilfe von RISO-Druck umgesetzt.
For the magazine of the media design department at DHBW Ravensburg, an editorial design was to be created for the upcoming fourth issue with the theme "chaos and control".
The concept develops the field "chaos and control" further into the topic of "change". Each of the five exemplary episodes is based on a different fold, each of which leads to a change in the layout and the general external appearance.
By folding the pages, the layout and the text are changed and placed
in a new context: each episode is symbolized by an appropriately chosen origami figure. This figure can be recreated at the end of each episode with the help of an enclosed folding sheet and instructions. If you unfold the finished figure again, the resulting folding pattern appears as the layout grid used in the episode. The result is a chaotic and jumbled design at first glance, but one that – using the origami folds – has been realized in a controlled manner.
